Sobbing smears her painted face.
She leans in close, dabs her eyes.
Lash wand flicks, repairs made.
Tissue tucked in sleeve with pain.
Fakes a smile. Door clicks shut.

Another enters. Chin spiked.

Palms slap, his velvet jaw.

Turns door knob. Office bound.

Bath time steam, rubber duck bobs.
baby chuckles, cream soap froth
scent. Water glugs.Powdered
peaches sweet and clean.
Off for just one bedtime tale.

Falling, silver jagged shards.
A million memories broken.
only glistening splinters. Lives
once recorded, now strewn on
cold checkers of bathroom tile.
